With Sign In Scheduling, you have the option to attach ICS files to the emails sent to your customers (and staff). ICS files contain appointment information in a universal format.
ICS files can be added straight into your customers' and staff members' own calendars, which is a great way to make sure they remember their appointments.

To get started, head to 'Manage' > 'Email Settings'.
To send ICS files to your customers and staff, click the checkbox to select 'Attach ICS files to emails'.
When this has been selected, an invite ICS file will be attached to the booking confirmation email.
You'll also find the option to send ICS files as requests, even if the corresponding appointment has already been confirmed. Doing so will prompt the recipient to accept or decline the invite from within their email inbox.
This option can be enabled for both customers and staff.
How to edit ICS file content
Users subscribed to our Pro plan and above can edit the content of ICS files within Sign In Scheduling. This will change what your customers/staff see within the file.
To do this, click to amend the text in the box under 'Description in ICS files for customers'.
How to use tags with ICS files
When editing ICS file content, you can use tags to populate the file with specific information.
Each tag must have two curly brackets at either side, like this {{example}}.
The tags available for you to use within ICS files are as follows:
- {{organisation_name}} - the name of your business
- {{appointment_name}} - the name of the appointment
- {{URL}} - a link for your clients to manage the booking
- {{staff_name}} - the name of the staff member taking the appointment
- {{customer_name}} - the name of the customer attending the appointment
