Sign In Scheduling offers you the ability to organize bookings by room.
Rooms are ideal for businesses that host appointments in multiple different rooms or buildings. Assigning a room to a booking is a great way to ensure that your customers know where they'll need to be when they arrive for their appointment.
This guide explains how to create and manage rooms within Sign In Scheduling.
Note: Rooms are available for those subscribed to our Pro plan and above.
How to create a room
To create a room, first head over to 'Manage' > 'Locations' 'Rooms' and under At business premises
and click Set up rooms and then click 'Enable rooms'.
Then, click '+ Add rooms' and enter the name, short name and description (if applicable) of your room, before clicking 'save'.
Repeat as necessary for as many rooms as you'd like to add!
Like staff, rooms each have their own viewable calendar within Sign In Scheduling.
How to assign a booking to a room
Bookings can be assigned to rooms. Once you've done this, you'll be able to filter bookings by room in the calendar.
To assign a booking to a room, select a room from the drop-down in the sidebar when making the booking, if you're making the booking yourself.
To assign a pre-existing booking to a room, click on the booking within your calendar, then click the pencil icon at the top of the sidebar to edit it. You can then select a room from the drop-down pictured above.
Once you've selected the room, scroll down and click 'Change'. Your booking will now be assigned to the room you have chosen.
How to view by room in the calendar
To view by room in the calendar, head to the calendar and select 'Rooms' from the drop-down next to the search bar in the top-right corner.
In the staff selection bar, you'll now see the short names of your rooms. To remove a room from view, click the 'X' next to it. To bring another room into view, click on the drop-down and select the room from the list (or, start typing the name of the room into the box and then select it).
When a room is selected, its assigned bookings will show within the calendar.
You can use the checkboxes within the list to decide exactly which rooms you'd like to view at once.
When not in rooms view, you can check which room a booking is assigned to by clicking on it and reviewing the details in the sidebar.
Note: rooms are only viewable internally, to staff members within Sign In Scheduling. Currently, your customers cannot book appointments for specific rooms themselves.
